The man who gave Peter La Fleur unfounded advice in Dodgeball is now being immortalized upon the big screen. However, The crime of undermining Dodgeball, although worthy of a big screen adaptation, will not be the focus of this story. Instead The Program will focus on the road that lead to such atrocities.

The Program stars Ben Foster (3:10 To Yuma, Lone Survivor) as Lance Armstrong in what looks to be an immersive performance behind one of world sports most narcissistic liars. The film chronicles Armstrong’s entry into cycling and doping, his rise to cancer survivor and inspiration, to his downfall as a fraud and bully.

Foster has long been impressive in smaller roles and indie films with The Program looking like it could finally make him a household name.

This could be a major player come awards time with respected director Stephen Frears at the helm. Frears is responsible for critically acclaimed films The Queen and Philomena. He also has a strong supporting cast at his disposal with Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids &Cavalry), Dustin Hoffman (Rain Man The Graduate), and Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons.

The Program is out in cinemas October 16.
