Regardless of where you stand with NBC’s sitcom Friends created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, there’s simply no denying the pop cultural history was written across ten seasons and 236 episodes. Fronted by the ensemble cast of Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, both the archetypes their characters represented as well as the overall premise itself has been replicated time and time again. Today, almost 17 years since the show’s finale hit the airways to an audience of 52.5 million in the US alone, HBO has released the first full-length Friends: The Reunion trailer for the upcoming special event fans have been awaiting for over a decade.

An initial trailer was uploaded last week, but much to the chagrin of many, it didn’t actually feature any footage of the reunion special in question. This latest trailer, on the other hand, has everything you hoped for. The entirety of the main cast has returned to the soundstage where it all went down – Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California – and they’re hitting all the nostalgia notes: trivia, tables reads re-enacting iconic scenes, and general reflections which appear to provoke tears from more than one of the former 90s stars.

In addition to the main cast of Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer, as that other trailer revealed, Friends: The Reunion will also welcome guest appearances from the following familiar names (some of which were part of the series)…

  • David Beckham
  • Justin Bieber
  • BTS
  • James Corden
  • Cindy Crawford
  • Cara Delevingne
  • Lady Gaga
  • Elliott Gould
  • Kit Harington
  • Larry Hankin
  • Mindy Kaling
  • Thomas Lennon
  • Christina Pickles
  • Tom Selleck
  • James Michael Tyler
  • Maggie Wheeler
  • Reese Witherspoon
  • Malala Yousafzai

David Crane, Marta Kauffman, and Kevin S. Bright have executive produced what’s the come while Ben Winston has directed. During its original run, Friends was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, securing a total of six wins. The series also managed to win the honour of Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2002, having received nominations in 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, as well as 2003.

Friends: The Reunion premieres towards the end of this month on May 27th via HBO Max (meaning it’ll probably hit Australia’s Binge around the same time) – watch the first full-length trailer above.
