The world has just been rewarded in these tough times with some new Frank Ocean music. The elusive and notoriously discreet songbird of a generation previewed tracks ‘Dear April’ and ‘Cayendo’ a few months prior during a PrEP+ club night in New York City. Now, they’ve just been officially released with the shipment of the associated 7″ vinyl records to fans who pre-ordered them.

Yes – consistent with the whole Blonded/F. Ocean brand of remaining analogue/subverting the conventional, these tracks are currently only available to purchase on vinyl. Generous fans, however, have taken it upon themselves to do the rest of us a courtesy – by recording the playback and uploading it to the internet. That’s the kind of solidarity humanity needs right now.
Also consistent with the whole Blonded/F. Ocean brand is what the tracks themselves provoke. Maybe I’m speaking a little too personally at this point – and there’s definitely room for you to make your own judgement before sounding off in the comments – but there’s a strong let-me-heal-your-soul-and-get-you-in-your-feelings-at-8am… vibe. Specific, I know. But accurate.
