In a move that surprised absolutely nobody, Splendour in the Grass 2020 has been rescheduled. The revised dates are now from Friday the 23rd to Sunday the 25th of October – so you might want to check on those accommodation bookings.

This is obviously in response to the Federal government’s ban on public gatherings of more than 500 people. Splendour in the Grass exceeds that cap by some 45,000 this year.

“Health and safety is our number one priority. After careful consideration and consultation with our artists, crew and stakeholders, in these unpredictable times we have decided, as a precautionary measure, to move Splendour in the Grass 2020 out of the winter months,” says Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco, Splendour in the Grass co-founders.

“We are not expecting any major upsets to the line-up thanks to the incredible support of the artists playing Splendour. Flume, The Strokes and Tyler, The Creator who have all confirmed their attendance for these new dates alongside most others. As this is moving quickly and we work through the detail there will be some programming changes but we are confident that rescheduling to October – a one off Spring edition of Splendour – is the best way to ensure we present the Splendour experience you all know and love.”

In addition to the lineup remaining relatively similar, all tickets purchased will remain just as valid. Although we are being told Moshtix will be in touch with ticket holders directly to sort out any issues with those who are no longer able to attend.

The good news? Aside from the promise of warmer weather, all those currently on a waiting list can cop admission at a special sale opening for refunded tickets. So sign up here for the opportunity ASAP.

And to refresh your memories (or to build further anticipation), check out the monster lineup that was announced earlier for this year.

More to come.
