The world's second-highest-paid athlete, football star Cristiano Ronaldo, has just snapped up a lush new Spanish villa for £1.3 million (AU$2.3 million).
You can imagine that with a paycheque of US$109 million in salary and endorsements this year alone, the Juventus striker would easily have a few million to splash on a new pad in paradise.
Robb Report confirms that this latest acquisition, which is still in its developmental phase, will bump the 34-year-old’s property portfolio up to £27 million (AU$47.6 million).
The gated property is found by the green of the La Resina Gold Course and affords unparalleled views of the Spanish coastline from a traditionally Meditteranean abode. According to The Sun, Ronaldo is just a few doors down from the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor in the new £15 million (AU$26.5 million) development on Spain's Costa del Sol known as “The Superstars Cul De Sac”.
The villa itself looks like an absolute dream, featuring high ceilings and expansive panoramic windows to let natural light fill the open-plan living areas. A floating staircase links the two levels where the clean lines and crisp white surfaces continue.
Outside, a sprawling infinity pool, sunken fire pit and outdoor lounge are perfect for a little Mediterranean bash, and the wine cellar, private gym and cinema can surely keep the Ronaldo family entertained over summer.
