Justin Bieber Lists Beverly Hills “Starter Mansion” For US$9 Million

Many have long maintained that money can’t buy taste. But do you know what money can buy? One of the world’s most sought-after locations for real estate and the best professional design help on the market; as soundly demonstrated by Jennifer Aniston’s superb Bel-Air pad, Ryan Murphy’s own LA abode, and yes – even the Beverly Hills “starter mansion” of one Justin Bieber, which has just been listed for sale.

In light of Bieber and wife Hailey’s recent considerable upgrade, the high-profile couple will no longer have any use for this 6,100-square foot transitional villa completed in 1932 and nicknamed “The Tropics” (they don’t exactly seem like the Airbnb hosting types). Initially purchased a mere eighteen months ago for US$8.5 million, as reported by Variety, “The Tropics” appears to have undergone little to no change since then.

So why the move? Maybe all those millions were burning a hole in JB’s pocket. Maybe they took issue with their neighbour, old mate Jeff Bezos, who owns the US$175 million compound right next door. Or perhaps Beverly Hills just doesn’t quite feel like home unless you keep doubling the square footage every second year. Regardless, here’s what US$8.99 million buys you:

  • 5 bedrooms (incl. lavish master suite w/ walk-in dressing room)
  • 7 bathrooms
  • gourmet kitchen w/ custom cabinetry, marble countertops, Wolf + SubZero appliances
  • sunken lounge room
  • home office
  • home theatre
  • library
  • wine cellar + wet bar
  • infinity pool + cabana area w/ BBQ and fireplace
  • gated courtyard w/ firepit

And just in case you needed to be annoyingly reminded one more time, this is what Biebs considers to be a “starter” home. Oh, to be young, rich, and a chart-topping pop star…
