Before he'll officially sign his massive AU$235 million four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets (likely this coming weekend), NBA superstar Kevin Durant earned a little pocket money by selling his Malibu beach house for a cool AU$17.9 million.
Having only purchased the home a year ago, Durant decided the 5,100-square-foot modern home wasn't for him, with the now-former Golden State Warrior basically letting go of the property for the price he originally paid for it.
The recently renovated home is found off a private and gated street and comes with four bedrooms and six bathrooms across three floors. A service elevator connects each level for fast access while other standout features of the abode include high ceilings, French oak floors, contemporary interiors and breathtaking ocean views.
The minimally designed dwelling includes a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen featuring a marble-topped centre island with a six-burner stove, and a den on the ground floor that comes with a small wood-burning fireplace, wooden bookshelves and cabinets and a fully stocked bar. Other features of the home include a library, media room, movie theatre, outdoor hot tub, glass-enclosed wine wall and a massage and exercise area in the loft.
Durant will no doubt use the funds from the sale and his new contract to pick up a penthouse or similar at his new home of New York City.
