Matthew Perry Lists Malibu Beach House For US$15 Million

Patron saint of onscreen sarcasm – Matthew Perry – has just listed his airy Malibu beach house for sale at an asking price of US$14.95 million. Purchased back in 2011 through an off-market deal reportedly valued around US$12 million, it seems the former Friends actor is looking for a change of scenery. Although based on what we’ve seen so far, we couldn’t possibly conceive of why you’d want to move away from this oceanfront property (aside from the obvious tax reasons).

Offering 5,500 square feet across two floors, four bedrooms in total, as well as three and a half bathrooms, the star of this sun-kissed pad aside from the location is the sheer abundance of open space. Contemporary to the touch, the interiors showcase warm wood floors, exposed beams on the ceiling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a floating staircase.

The entertaining areas “orbit” a freestanding central fireplace, spilling out onto the outdoor deck – almost seamlessly integrating the interior with exterior. As for what the entertaining areas themselves entail, there’s a place to kick back and lounge, a place to kick back and watch some TV, and a place to log some spirited hours of ping pong on a gorgeous designer matte table.

The kitchen and designated dining area are no less chic. Featuring custom-built cabinets and top-of-the-line commercial appliances, the praise simply must be reiterated – every part of the house blends together seamlessly without any jarring or forced boundary markers. Space innately communicates its purpose without fuss or fanfare.

The master bedroom is everything you’d want from a home such as this. Unobstructed views of the coast. An expansive and light-filled deluxe bathroom. A voluminous walk-in closet with bespoke wooden wardrobes. A private deck to watch the world go by. Outside, in the small courtyard, there’s a wood-decked spa to soak your bones. And like any Californian who has made a living on stage and screen, there’s a private screening room capable of seating up to ten.
