Acclaimed director Kathryn Bigelow, of Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker fame, returns with an epic period piece which takes us all the way back to 1960s Detroit. Set during the 1967 12th Street Riot (if your history is rubbish, read up on it here), Detroit’s story follows the Algiers Motel incident that took place during the uprising.
Star War’s John Boyega leads as a falsely accused security guard who gets unwittingly involved in the whole situation, with the trailer showing him in some tense moments. It definitely looks like the movie will be an edge of your seat affair.
Check out the trailer for it above and make sure you see it in cinemas when it comes out on the 31st of August.
