A Die Hard Marathon Coming To Sydney Later This Month

— Updated on 17 June 2022

Whether you think it’s a Christmas movie or not (it is), there’s no disputing Die Hard is one of the greatest action flicks of all time. Bruce Willis is perfectly cast as everyman John McClane, a New York cop visiting his wife in Los Angeles for Christmas when terrorists take over the building she works in. Cue violent mayhem and some of the best one-liners in cinema history.

November marks the 30th anniversary of this cinematic classic, so Sydney’s Ritz Cinema is celebrating by holding a Die Hard marathon. The appropriately titled “McClanefest” will feature Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance. Conspicuously absent is Live Free Or Die Hard and A Good Day To Die Hard, but considering how bad both films are I don’t think anyone will be kicking up a fuss.

Not only will you get the chance to experience these blockbusters on the big screen but the trilogy will be shown in 35mm, meaning you’ll be able to watch every detail like never before.

Tickets are $25 (or $20 for cinema members), with the first film exploding on screen at 7 pm with an end time of around 2 am.

“McClanefest” takes place at Sydney’s Ritz Cinema Friday, November 23. Grab your tickets here.
