The last thing we expected to be doing this morning was trawling through an auction catalog of former Aussie Prime Minister Bob Hawke’s belongings, but hey, here we are.

And it might be the coolest auction catalog we’ve ever seen.

The national hero and all-around loved bloke spent nearly 50-years in the public service before passing away earlier this year. You can imagine, then, that with such an intriguing time on this planet the man would have amassed a vast and eclectic array of personal items, and you’d be right.

Set to go under the hammer at Sydney’s Paddington RSL Club at the end of the month, the 235 items (a lot of them junk, but with a few spicy listings for the keen observer) include the likes of a circa $15,000 Euan McLeod artwork, Versace ashtrays, Persian rugs, and three full sets of golf clubs, including one complete Callaway Big Bertha setup.

The booze collection is of particular note, with the likes of a Bob Hawke branded Vintage Port Bottle, a variety of Penfolds Grange (circa $100-$200) and an assortment of mint condition cigar boxes and accessories.

To complete your dream office or bachelor pad setup, why not throw in an iconic Bob Hawke framed photograph or artwork? The auction goes down on August 27th at 6 pm, and we’ll sure as shit see you there.

See the full catalog here.
