Ralph Lauren are the epitome of style for the Americans, so it’s always great to see what they come up with for Team USA at the Olympics. This year, for winter, they’ve gone above and beyond what’s expected, creating pieces that are the perfect blend of tech and style.

They start with both a parka and bomber style jacket featuring the usual down and waterproofing combo, perfect for the winter wonderland that will be PyeongChang. The interesting addition, however, is the inclusion of a battery-powered, app-controlled heating element printed onto the lining in the shape of an American flag. So whilst being super warm, the actual tech behind that warmth is also patriotic (obviously including the blatant red, white and blue colourway). With 11 hours of battery life and successful tests at -30 degrees, athletes for Team USA won’t be feeling the chill too badly these Winter Olympics.

Don’t worry, whilst you may not be able to cop the jackets themselves, the actual tech used for heating them should be out soon. In the meantime check out Burton’s NASA like gear for Team USA here.
