It’s a punchline that practically writes itself. Shane Warne is bringing his signature SW23 fragrance to shelves around the country. Starting this Friday, ordinary blokes like you and I will be able to smell like the King of Spin himself.

Whether it’ll do anything for your own personal exploits is entirely dependent on you. Regardless, according to its official description, SW23 by Shane Warne is a bold and woody fragrance which exudes the holy trinity of “sophistication, sensuality, and warmth”.

One may expect “sumptuous ingredients” which will apparently “envelope the senses”. In other words, it probably won’t be a pack of darts mixed with day-old champagne as many of you will have assumed. At the very least, the marketing promises it’ll be a discernible step above.

SW23 opens with notes of fresh bergamot, mandarin leaf, cardamom, and crisp apple. As it progresses, it intensifies with mid-notes of juniper berry, lavandin, clary sage, and wild mint. To finish, there’s bold base notes of Indonesian patchouli, birchwood, oakmoss, and leather accord.

“I’ve had some good feedback from women, they seem to like this,” says Warne; knowing full well none of these supposed women are giving him attention because of his goddamn scent.

“People will notice you wearing it and they will comment on how wonderful you smell. It creates conversation and will make you feel happy, confident and sophisticated.”

Right-o, rooter. We’ll take your word for it.

SW23 by Shane Warne will be available to purchase via Chemist Warehouse for just $49.99 starting Friday the 7th of August. All proceeds will be directed towards Melbourne-based children’s cancer charity – My Room.
