With the sale of Australia's most expensive home going down a couple of months back, our big brothers over in the US are making the achieved total look measly in comparison. The enormous Hamptons 'Jule Pond' estate recently came onto the New York market for $220 million AUD, right on the water with 17-hectares of land to play around with.
The main house has 1900 square metres of space, featuring 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, with the property itself containing tennis and basketball courts, as well as a greenhouse and pool.
Originally built for Henry Ford, the estate has been owned by portfolio manager Brenda Earl since 2002. If 'Jule Pond' were to be sold at the listing price, it would be the most expensive home to ever change hands in the US, equalling the previous record set by Barry Rosenstein in 2014.
