LANDMARK by Lexus – formerly known as the Lexus Design Pavilion, makes a striking return to Victorian Racing Club’s Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington this weekend.
If spring carnival is the racing calendar’s most anticipated event of the season, then LANDMARK by Lexus will be the jewel in the crown of the iconic birdcage enclosure.
For those lucky enough to gain access, the overarching Japanese theme of ‘Omotenashi’ (meaning to wholeheartedly look after and anticipate guests needs) will welcome them at every step of their experience in the pavilion.
The Lexus spirit of hospitality, warmth and a commitment to design and innovation is at the heart of the concept, with the real crowd pleaser being the Australian-first reveal of the new LC 500 Convertible. Given we had nothing but surprisingly positive words to say about the V8 Coupe, this naturally-aspirated beauty is something we’re really excited to see with its top off.
LANDMARK is once against employing the work of both sustainable artist, Joost Bakker and Sydney-based architect, Koichi Takada, who have worked on creating statement centrepieces throughout the three levels to capture the essence of the Australian landscape.
A 90-seater level three restaurant will be directed by emerging Australian chefs, Matt Stone & Jo Barrett of the hatted restaurant, Oakridge in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. Lexus Ambassador Neil Perry will also be serving up his signature dishes on-site in other parts of the marquee.
“Each year, Lexus work with master craftsmen to bring to life our core Japanese philosophies of anticipation, thoughtfulness, and hospitality – the same philosophies present in all Lexus vehicles, including the new LC Convertible Prototype and new RX that will be showcased this year at LANDMARK by Lexus”, says Lexus Australia Chief Executive, Scott Thompson.
“LANDMARK by Lexus is the epitome of the Lexus luxury lifestyle and we are thrilled to unveil our carefully crafted experience that will be truly unforgettable for our guests throughout Melbourne Cup Carnival.”
The festivities kick off this Saturday for Derby Day, with LANDMARK by Lexus hosting guests for each of the key days of Flemington’s Melbourne Cup Carnival.
