Archie Rose Hits A Six With The Sydney Cricket Gin

Archie Rose Sydney Cricket Gin

Determined to unite two world-renowned Aussie icons, Archie Rose have teamed up with the Sydney Cricket Grounds for a brand new tailored gin – the Sydney Cricket Gin – in a move that contradicts the usual choice(s) of alcoholic beverage associated with rugby, AFL, A-League soccer, or indeed, cricket.

Featuring local ingredients such as lemon myrtle, Dorrigo Pepperleaf, honey directly sourced from local Sydney beehives, and even a “generous” splash of orange peel (a nod to the time-honoured half-time tradition), this particular drop will surely introduce an extra touch of sophistication to whatever you’re spectating.

“We are thrilled to partner with an innovative local distillery like Archie Rose to develop the SCG’s first ever gin,” says Kerrie Mather, CEO of Venues NSW.

“It is a great example of two proud NSW brands working together to create memorable experiences for our customers. The Sydney Cricket Gin and SCG Gin Bar By Archie Rose is one of many new food and beverage offerings available at the SCG this year.”

“Archie Rose is first and foremost a Sydney brand and we’re incredibly proud to produce a Tailored Gin and Gin Bar in partnership with the SCG – our favourite Australian sporting ground,” says Will Edwards, Archie Rose Founder.

“We’re really excited that regulars at the SCG will now be able to enjoy a truly local gin at a blockbuster calendar of sporting events scheduled at the ground this winter and beyond.”

700ml bottles of Sydney Cricket Gin (42% ABV) can now be purchased via the cellar door at Archie Rose Rosebery and the distillery’s official website for just $99 – as well as being available to sample at the Archie Rose Gin Bar in the SCG’s Noble Dining Room.

Side note: for those of you ordering online, there’s even an option to personalise the bespoke design with a name or member number, plus a note that’ll be printed on the side of the label.
