The World’s First Hoverbike Is Here: The Scorpion-3

— 22 February 2017

Behold the Scorpion-3, the world’s very first commercial hoverbike and latest evolution in human mobility. Developed by Russian startup HOVERSURF, this electric powered quadcopter is a fully manned beast capable of flying at heights of 10m and at speeds of up to 50km/h.

The vessel features a motorcycle seat and is operated by drone technology that can be automatically or manually controlled. The hoverbike is fitted with a state-of-the-art safety system, specialty programming and computer-aided speed and altitude limiting.

The Scorpion-3 was designed for both extreme sport fans and amateurs alike – provided they weigh less than 120kg – and we really hope the concept takes off, because what better way to get to the office? For now though, it’s a nice introduction into manned hovercrafts and it makes us pretty excited about what’s ahead.
