Considering the big fella only ever recorded a single three-pointer during his decorated career, the prospect of Shaq hosting/participating in a three-point contest is rich with irony. Still, it’s happening all the same later this month at The Star Sydney’s 24/7 Sports Bar.

In addition to his main Australian tour, ‘An Evening With Shaquille O’Neal’ – plus the DJ sets he’ll play at both Sydney’s Marquee and Melbourne’s 170 Russell – this shootout will see five lucky locals go head-to-head against the four-time NBA champion in what is famously the most average aspect of his legendary skillset.

Bragging rights aside, a personal meet-and-greet with Shaq Attack himself and $250 gift card to spend at The Star’s 24/7 Sports Bar are up for grabs.

“I’m very excited to be back Down Under for the first time in a very long time,” said Shaquille O’Neal.

“I look forward to saying hello to my many Australian fans and seeing some of the incredible entertainment I’m sure Sydney has in store.”

Incidentally, Shaq’s visit will coincide with The Hour Group’s other headlining tour featuring Dagestani sensation Hasbulla Magomedov. While the South Melbourne-based operation has alluded to the possibility of history’s most ambitious crossover, we’ve yet to receive confirmation these two larger-than-life icons will actually meet (stay tuned).

The three-point contest featuring Shaq is scheduled to go down on Friday, August 26th from 3:30 PM at The Star Sydney’s 24/7 Sports Bar – find out more below.
