Is ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor The Next UFC World Champion?

— 7 May 2015

‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is quickly becoming one of the most exciting UFC fighters in the world. With a huge ego and quick wit he is more than entertaining both inside and outside the octagon. McGregor is currently ranked #3 in the Featherweight Division, with a record of 17 wins and 2 losses, 15 of those wins coming by KO.

McGregor is set to fight the current Featherweight Champion of the World, Jose Aldo, who hasn’t lost a fight in 10 years, defending his title 8 times. When asked about the fight at the UFC 189 World Tour Press Conference in Dublin, McGregor said he has no doubt that Aldo’s reign will soon be over.

“I will hit him, I’m not trying to sell nothing, I will kill him. It’s no joke, it’s not an act,” McGregor said.

McGregor created quite a stir up in the current Featherweight Champion at the press conference when he grabbed his championship belt and held it up above his head whilst thousands of fans cheered him on. McGregor then continued to antagonise Aldo, asking him repeatedly, “What you gonna do? What you gonna do? What you gonna do?” He ended the confrontation by telling Aldo that he was the ‘King’.
