An Australian tradition.

There's nothing better than heading to Bunnings on a weekend for a snag on white bread, but Melbourne residents won't have to wait until Saturday to cop their fill, with the hardware giant opening a pop-up sausage sizzle at Federation Square today only.

Celebrating the recent addition of Click & Collect to Bunnings online store, the homeware chain will be handing out over 3,000 sausages for free. All you have to do is snap a picture with your phone, post it to Instagram with the hashtag #tagforasnag and you'll receive a delicious free feed. Being the good sports they are, Bunnings are donating $2.50 (the average cost of a snag) to Melbourne City Mission for every snag given away.

These aren't your regular Coles brand sausages either, with Australian chef Shane Delia (Biggie Smalls, Maha, Maha East) serving up pork sausages topped with brown onions and roast-eggplant mayo. If that sounds a little too extravagant, there will also be the standard sausage in white bread available.

Anyone who heads down to Fed Square will also be able to experience a virtual Click & Collect store. Browse more than 35,000 products online, buy your own indoor plant (another one) and then learn how to make a macramé pot hanger to keep it in.

The Bunnings Click & Collect pop-up and sausage sizzle will run from 7 am until 6 pm in Melbourne's Federation Square.
