Melbourne’s Miami-inspired Floating Bar & Pool Returns In September

— Updated on 18 June 2021

Popular Melbourne floating bar Arbory Afloat is back in action this summer with its Miami-inspired theme.

The open-air Arbory Bar & Eatery is one of the city’s finest beer gardens nestled between Flinders Station and the Yarra River. This year’s edition is shaping up to be the best yet, opening earlier than previous summers as soon as mid-September.

Taking inspiration from 1970’s Miami, the floating pontoon will be decked out in pastel blue and pink colours with an art-deco vibe throughout the design. Palm trees will be dotted throughout along with a swimming pool to cool off in when the temperatures soar. This year also sees the addition of an upper deck featuring cosy dining and lounge spaces alongside private cabanas for those wanting a romantic summer’s evening by the water.

Arbory Afloat Executive Chef, Nick Bennett, has tailored an offering that celebrates all things Latin America, the Caribbean, Cuba and Mexico. A custom-made pizza oven will be dishing out American style pizzas while an array of grilled meats, empanadas and other snack food including oysters and fried calamari will spice up the menu.

Drink wise, Arbory Afloat will offer a range of tantalising cocktails and a flowing selection of high-quality gins, with both local and international wine and beer also available to quench your thirst.

Arbory Afloat is set to open mid-September and you can find out more about the venue at arboryafloat.com. Stay tuned for an exact opening date.
