In a development that’ll undoubtedly provoke a wave of dogmatic outrage and at least one poorly-written + probably toothless “takedown” article from Pedestrian.TV, legendary comedian Dave Chappelle has booked a stand-up tour of Australia for early 2023 (and his inaugural tour of New Zealand).

The Grammy Award-winning talent, 2019 recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and powerhouse creative behind the critically-lauded Chappelle’s Show is scheduled to kick things off in Perth, before eventually wrapping up his epic two-week/five-stop run in Brisbane. This marks the first occasion he’s graced our sunburnt shores since 2014.

Fans can expect material in the same ethos of his recent Netflix comedy specials – The Age of Spin, Deep In The Heart of Texas, Equanimity, The Bird Revelation, Sticks & Stones, The Closer – which have attracted varying levels of “controversy” as well as three Emmy wins, in addition to material that references the fallout of said material.

As for the matter of how you can get in on the action, the Live Nation presale for tickets to Dave Chappelle’s 2023 Australian tour opens this Thursday (December 15th) at 11 AM [AEDT]. General sale, on the other hand, opens the day after (December 16th) at the same hour.
