The Academy Award-winning director of Traffic, Oceanโs Trilogy, and yes, Magic Mike fame has revisited the spy thriller genre with a certifiable whoโs who of Hollywood talent.

In front of the camera, you can expect Australiaโs own Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender as โlegendaryโ married intelligence agents: Kathryn and George Woodhouse, respectively. When Blanchettโs Kathryn is suspected of betraying the nation, Fassbenderโs George must face the ultimate test of loyalty.
The duo are joined by Bond franchise alums Pierce Brosnan and Naomie Harris, along with the consistently suave Rege-Jean Page, Industry star Marisa Abela, as well as Tom Burke; the latter of whom you may have seen alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Behind the scenes, the names are no less impressive. Aside from Soderbergh himself โ who also serves as the filmโs cinematographer under his alias โPeter Andrewsโ โ Black Bag has been written by one of the most successful screenwriters of all time, David Koepp.
For the uninitiated, Koepp the same scribe behind everything from the original Jurassic Park, Carlitoโs Way, Mission: Impossible, and Sam Raimiโs Spider-Man; to War of the Worlds and Angels & Demons.
Between this and his Paramount+/Showtime drama The Agency, Michael Fassbender appears to have a renewed fascination with star-studded spy entertainment.
Based on the French series Le Bureau des Lรฉgendes, and penned by Jez & John-Henry Butterworth โ the veteran screenwriters behind Fair Game, Edge of Tomorrow, Ford v Ferrari, Spectre, and Nine Perfect Strangers โ itโs set within the department responsible for training and handling deep-cover CIA operatives on long-term missions.
When an agent named Martian (Fassbender) is ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station, setting a chain of events in motion involving the reappearance of โthe love he left behindโ and a reignited romance.
