- We’ve received our first proper look at Jeremy Allen White (The Bear, Iron Claw) as Bruce Springsteen in the Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere trailer.
- With the Boss’ own personal blessing, the forthcoming biopic covers the recording of his seminal 1982 album Nebraska.
- Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has set release date of October 23rd, 2025 (Australia).
Between the quartet of Beatles movies slated for simultaneous release, Timothée Chalamet-led Oscar bait A Complete Unknown, and the surprisingly inventive Better Man starring a CGI primate stand-in for Robbie Williams… music biopics are suddenly all the rage again.
That’s why Jeremy Allen White has decided to step outside the kitchen for an emotionally nuanced turn as Bruce Springsteen himself for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. And based on the footage provided today, he’s campaigning nice and early for an Academy Award to go with his Golden Globes.

Directed by Scott Cooper – who famously crafted the critically-lauded Crazy Heart starring Jeff Bridges, inspired by country singer Hank Thompson – instead of cramming an entire lifetime into two hours, the film has wisely chosen to focus on a pivotal moment in the Boss’ career.
According to the official synopsis, Deliver Me From Nowhere chronicles the making of Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska, “… when he was a young musician on the cusp of global superstardom, struggling to reconcile the pressures of success with the ghosts of his past.”

Recorded on a four-track recorder in his New Jersey bedroom, the stripped-back and sombre acoustic album is widely celebrated as among his most profound (and enduring) – an unflinching portrait of the working man’s struggle at a time when the airwaves were dominated by polished rock and synth-rich new age pop championing anything else.
Jeremy Allen White is joined by Succession alum Jeremy Strong as Jon Landau, Springsteen’s manager; character actor extraordinaire Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Douglas; another sensational character actor in Paul Walter Hauser (Richard Jewell) as recording engineer Mike Batlan; Odessa Young (The Order), as Springsteen’s love interest Faye; plus comedian and retired podcaster Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin.

You can also expect Johnny Cannizzaro as E Street Band guitarist and future The Sopranos star Steve Van Zandt; Harrison Gilbertson as Springsteen’s friend Matt Delia; David Krumholtz as Columbia record executive Al Teller; and Chris Jaymes as mastering engineer Dennis King.
Scott Cooper has adapted Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name for screens, and by all accounts, seems uniquely suited to helm this very production (if Crazy Heart didn’t sell him to you, check out the gritty Out of the Furnace and Black Mass).
As for a release date, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has set a release date for October 23rd, 2025, here in Australia – check out the trailer above.
