Netflix has announced that the Byrde family are wrapping it up, with the official confirmation that Ozark season 4 will have a โsupersizedโ run of fourteen episodes as opposed to the usual ten.
This final return will be split into two parts, each one consisting of seven episodes. Hopefully, itโll be enough to do the last chapter in the Byrde familyโs journey justice, marking a definite end to their arc transitioning โโฆ from suburban Chicago life to criminal enterprise in the Ozarks.โ
โWeโre so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving Ozark more time to end the Byrdesโ saga right,โ says showrunner, Chris Mundy.
โItโs been such a great adventure for all of us, both on-screen and off, so weโre thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.โ
In terms of the plot, details have been fairly sparse. Though anyone who has watched season 3 can probably guess where itโs heading. Suffice it to say, โexplosiveโ consequences lie ahead and thereโs simply no turning back โ a sentiment alluded to during Martyโs speech to Wendy about doubling down and getting to the heart of it all.
โA supersized season means supersized problems for the Byrdes,โ says Jason Bateman, the thespian behind Marty Byrde and Executive Producer.
โIโm excited to end with a bang.โ
While Ozark season 4 does not have a release date just yet, itโs safe to assume weโll be waiting another year โ minimum. Given the fact that season 3 has only just been released and COVID-19 disrupting active productions the world over.
More to come.
