One of the world's finest shoemakers, John Lobb has added to its ready to wear collection with a contemporary five-panel sneaker, the Foundry.

The John Lobb Foundry sneaker, which incorporates technical fabrics for the first time, borrows from classic welted sportswear and outerwear lines present in the Lobb's bespoke archives and arrives in colourways that reflect the brand's natural and outdoors heritage.

The undulating ghillie detail on the laces is inspired by traditional Scottish walking shoes, and the cross-grain leather (a new introduction for the brand) pays homage to the hardy functional leathers used in the past for these same walking shoes and boots.

Produced on the brand's 1019 last, the five-panel upper features a classic apron in a nylon canvas, whilst the overlaid panelling reflects the lines of classic sport Derbys from the 1920s. A 3 part sole is finished with Lobb's distinctive diamond (Rasp) pattern, a re-interpretation of the house motif present on the sole of all hand wheeled bespoke models created in the atelier.

The John Lobb Foundry is offered in four colourways online, interestingly, however, not the colourway photographed on the hanger above.
