B.H.'s Melbourne Fashion Week 2026 Field Guide

Seven runways, seven nights and one tequila worth knowing. Here's how to do Melbourne Fashion Week properly, with an 1800 Tequila in hand.

Every October, Melbourne gets dressed up and stays out late. Melbourne Fashion Week 2026 runs from the 19th - 25th of October, with more than 100 events running into the early hours across the city: runways, talks, workshops, pop-ups and after-parties. Locals will tell you it's the fashion week that feels most like its city, with more than 90% of its designers, models and students coming from Melbourne.

It's also a week built on craft, which is why 1800 Tequila fits so naturally. Back as the Official Spirits Partner of Melbourne Fashion Week for the third year running, 1800 comes from the Beckmann family, whose tequila-making tradition stretches back more than 250 years. Every bottle is made from 100% Blue Weber agave, and the whole philosophy rests on patience, precision and attention to detail. Spend a night watching a collection come down the runway and you'll recognise the same values.

So consider this your plan for the week: where to be, what to wear, and what's in your glass when the lights go down.

The Week, Night By Night

Monday 19 October: Opening Runway, ganbu marra

8pm · National Gallery of Victoria, 180 St Kilda Road · $99 to $199 · Tickets

The week opens at the NGV for the first time, taking over Gandel Hall. In Woi Wurrung, ganbu marra means "one mob", and the show brings together First Nations designers including Ebony Noire, Kaninda, Marnin Studio and Yapa Mali. It's the cultural heart of the calendar, and once the show wraps there are drinks and canapés to toast the official start of the week.

Tuesday 20 October: M/FW Conversations

3pm and 5:30pm · State Library Victoria Conference Centre · Session 1 · Session 2

With no runways on the schedule, Tuesday belongs to the talks. Invest in Your Fashion Business runs from 3pm to 5pm, followed by Visible and Valued from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Both are worth your time if you want to hear how the industry runs before you see it on show.

Wednesday 21 October: Cult Status Runway

6:30pm and 9pm · Ian Potter Queen's Hall, State Library Victoria · $59 to $299 · Tickets

This is where you spot the labels before everyone else does. The lineup is built from brands growing a following from the underground up, including Club Venus, Gotham, LIANDRA and Wilson Jedd Adams, in about as good a room as a runway gets. Bring your best "heard about them first" energy.

Thursday 22 & Friday 23 October: The 1800 Tequila Nights at Younghusband

Younghusband, 2/50 Elizabeth Street, Kensington

Midweek, the action moves to Kensington, where 1800 Tequila takes over Younghusband for the two nights that anchor its week. The former wool store, now a creative precinct, suits the partnership well. It's a heritage building given a new life, which is close to the 1800 story in bricks and mortar.

You'll have 1800 in hand from the moment you arrive. Guests are greeted with a Stiletto Spritz, Tommy's Margarita, or 1800 Paloma, the brand's hero serve for MFW, while front-row and VIP guests are served the 1800 Paloma seat-side. It comes in a 200ml format made for a fashion show, when you've got one hand free and nowhere to put a glass down. On both nights, top-tier tickets include the M/FW Lounge from 6pm to 7:45pm, with hospitality before the show, premium runway seating and an MFW 2026 gift bag.

Thursday: The Edit Runway

8pm · $79 to $299 · Tickets

The polished one. It celebrates modern femininity with a lineup that includes Atoir, Bianca Spender, Elka Collective, Oroton, Third Form and Raffaele Ciuca presents Vivienne Westwood, all styled by Stuart Walford. Order the Paloma: bright, clean and sharply put together, much like the collections.

Friday: Student Collections Runway

8pm · $69 to $209 · Tickets

The wildcard of the week, and often the most interesting. It's your first look at the next generation, with graduating collections from Box Hill Institute, LCI Melbourne, RMIT School of Fashion and Textiles and Whitehouse Institute of Design. Expect raw ideas, big swings, and texture, form and construction you won't see anywhere else. It's a fitting night for a brand that was itself built on an experiment: the Beckmann family's decision to age tequila in barrels, which gave 1800 its name.

Saturday 24 October: City Square Runways 1 & 2

2pm and 4pm · City Square, Melbourne · Free standing room · Street Style · After Hours

Fashion week heads outdoors. Street Style kicks off at 2pm, followed at 4pm by After Hours, featuring Mr. Cuff and Scotch & Soda. Seats have sold out, but free standing room is available, so get there early and claim your spot. When the crowd spills out afterwards, the city's bars are pouring 1800's MFW cocktail menu (more below).

Sunday 25 October: Closing Runway, Wear the Moment

6pm and 8:30pm · 1 Hotel Melbourne, Docklands · $79 to $299 · Tickets

The week signs off with live performance and music woven through the runway, bringing together designers, creatives and subcultures from across the city. Think of it as a party with a dress code, and make your last 1800 of the week count.

Where To Drink 1800 Around Town

If you can't make it to Younghusband, 1800 is taking Fashion Week to bars across the city.

A dedicated MFW cocktail menu runs at the below venues:

  • Good Heavens Rooftop — all month
  • Inuman — 12th - 25th October
  • Hotel Nacional — all month
  • The Atrium on 35 — all month
  • Crane bar and lounge — 19th - 26th October
  • Fonda Flinders St — 7th - 31st October

A great week of fashion rewards the same things a great tequila does: time, care and a bit of nerve. Plan your nights, dress for them, and let 1800 take care of what's in your glass.
