Something To Reflect On
Celebrating the latest in Champagne Lallier’s Réflexion collection, R.021 Brut and Brut Rosé are two delicate cuvées from a 2021 harvest. A year of brutal frosts and heavy rainfall, the two champagnes are crisp, creamy, and exceptionally fresh. The Brut has notes of mandarin and lime, and an iodine freshness, while the rosé leans into blood orange, kumquat, and an elegant finish.

Cheat The Wind With UNIQLO
It’s been sunny for four days in a row now: Winter is (un)officially over. Our favourite basics supplier has come out with another legendary pull. The new Windproof Stand Blouson ($99.90) comes in green, navy, beige and black, and is about as essential as it gets in transitional weather.
That’s A ThinKer!
Konstantin Chaykin's ThinKing Mystery is 1.65mm thick. That's thinner than two stacked credit cards, and – following an unofficial arms race between Piaget, Bulgari, and Richard Mille to claim the title – it's now the thinnest mechanical watch in production, full stop. The Moscow-based independent first showed the concept as a one-off prototype in 2024; it later sold at Phillips for CHF 508,000. Two years and a full engineering overhaul later, it's a 12-piece limited edition, priced at CHF 400,000.
There's no crown: winding and time-setting happen via two separate tools with built-in over-tension safeguards, and the dial swaps hands for a pair of transparent sapphire discs, a nod to the Wristmons Joker series that put Chaykin on the map. Good for him; he looks happy.
Navajo Niceties
I was perusing South West Trader over the weekend and came across the work of Sebastian Cilento – an Aussie who lived and trained across Navajo nations for 7 years to learn jewellery design. His rings are super clean (one customer was engagement ring shopping next to me), and come in a range of colours and styles that won’t look like you’re cosplaying as Johnny Depp. He also does cuffs, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
BDK, OK?
BDK just launched their Parfums Collection Studio line– three atomic frags that will smell like the night before, the day of, and the morning thereafter. It’s a line of high-concentration Absolus de Parfum (40% to 48% oil concentration) launched to celebrate the brand's 10th anniversary. Oud Paradiso ($599) is a resinous, fruity oud and the deepest of the three. Silver Ceremony ($599) is on the other end of the spectrum: citrussy musks and a long-lasting labdanum base. Stellar Silk ($599) is a vanilla bomb– the Madagascar stuff, so it smells roasted and not screechy or synthetic. All of them are worth a try in these Winter months.
