Itโ€™s Christmas day for Apple fanatics, as the Cupertino-based tech giant reveals its latest and greatest iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods.

For the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch SE 3, the top-line notes involve improved battery life and charging, a more scratch-resistant display, a more dynamic workout functionality, as well as a suite of new health features, such as sleep tracking and hypertension detection (which doesnโ€™t appear to be available in Australia yet).

For the Apple Watch Ultra 3 โ€“ a model that didnโ€™t receive a significant update last year โ€“ it now flaunts a larger display, improved satellite connectivity, and an impressive bump in battery life to a whopping 42 hours.

Hereโ€™s everything else thatโ€™s been confirmed.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is Appleโ€™s flagship wearable release this year, and the big news is its sleep-tracking functionality.

Tracking physiological metrics like heart rate, wrist temperature, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate, it combines these data readings with factors including sleep duration, bedtime consistency, and how often you wake up to provide an accurate sleep score each morning, plus offer suggestions for how to improve it.

From a form-factor perspective, the Series 11 arrives with a display protected by a unique Ion-X (ion-exchanged strengthened) glass thatโ€™s twice as scratch-resistant as the previous model. Battery life has also been upgraded, now offering up to 24 hours with regular use and 38 hours in Low Power Mode. Expect up to eight hours of battery life from 15 minutes of fast charging.

Finally, the workout functionality has also been refreshed, now with the Apple Intelligence-powered Workout Buddy that can provide spoken motivation during a workout. The SE 3 aims to be a more affordable way to get an Apple Watch on your wrist, sacrificing some functionality for a more approachable price.

Despite being a little more limited than the Series 11, Apple has still packed plenty into the SE 3, which now has an Always-On Retina display and fast charging for the first time.

This new display is protected by Ion-X (ion-exchanged strengthened) glass thatโ€™s four times more resistant to cracking than the previous generation, while the fast charging functionality is twice as fast as the older generation. That translates to 18 hours of battery life, and up to eight hours of battery life from 15 minutes of fast charging.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 has been a massive success as a rugged, outdoor-focused smartwatch, and this year itโ€™s copped a solid update. This latest generation of Apple Watch Ultra entails a larger LTPO3 wide-angle OLED display (partially thanks to a thinner bezel), which is always on and has a ticking seconds hand.

In terms of connectivity, it now features two-way satellite communications, enabling Emergency SOS via satellite and Find My via satellite, which pings your location every 15 minutes. Given itโ€™s Appleโ€™s answer to a go-anywhere, do-anything sports watch, this is great news for avid campers, hikers, and even skiers.

The battery life has also seen a significant improvement: up to 42 hours of battery life while in use and up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode. Onto the matter of fast charging, just 15 minutes of being plugged in provides up to 12 hours of battery life.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 also arrives with sleep tracking of the other new releases, but it has far superior workout tracking; Apple claims that runners will โ€œget the most accurate GPS in a sports watchโ€ and granular performance metrics such as vertical oscillation, ground contact time, and stride length.

For the cyclists out there, youโ€™ll be able to enjoy tracking advanced metrics like cadence, estimates of your functional threshold power, and Power Zones; in addition to more standard metrics like distance, speed, elevation, and heart rate.
