For comparison, that’s the same approximate thickness as two dollar coins stacked on top of one another. And yet, beneath the minimalism lies undeniable firepower.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset is as “elite” as its name suggests. This bad boy handles everything from 4K video editing and the latest suite of artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements, to cheeky daytime gaming and even cheekier late-night doomscrolling without breaking a sweat. Paired with 12 GB of RAM, the processing is almost unnervingly efficient.
As for the battery, the capacity stands at 3,900 mAh.
Despite sizing down, there hasn’t been any sacrifice of screen real estate. Expect a 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED panel that feels more like peering through a window pane than it does pixels and glass – QHD+ resolution, fluid 120 Hz refresh rate, vibrant and vivid without being gaudy, the works.
It won’t replace your televisions completely, but given the calibre of visual clarity, streaming on your phone for those long-haul international flights will no longer feel like a downgrade.
Over the past decade, Samsung’s camera game has gotten scary good. The culmination of the South Korean tech giant’s tireless R&D can be experienced in the S25 Edge’s single 200 MP main sensor – which does most of the heavy lifting – complemented by a 12 MP ultrawide and discrete 12 MP front-facing cameras.
Image quality is further bolstered by Samsung’s ProVisual Engine and in-camera Galaxy AI3 smarts. You point, it captures, and the result will almost always resemble the handiwork of someone who knew what they were doing.
The standout, in our humble opinion, involves the famed Nightography4 which absolutely thrives in low-light settings. The aforementioned ProVisual Engine also provides multi-frame fusion, impressive noise reduction, and scene-aware reconstruction for captures comparable to those daytime snapshots.
In other words, shots thought impossible a few short years ago can now be taken, and eventually, taken for granted.
There’s also stunning 8K video recording abilities.
Onto the matter of Galaxy AI. Yes, we know – every brand has its own AI-powered shtick these days. Samsung’s execution, however, justifies hopping onto the next-gen trend. These are far from the usual bells and whistles.
The “Now Brief”5 assistant, for one, filters your everyday chaos into clarity: summarised emails, smart replies, real-time transcription, even image generation on-device (if you’re into that sort of thing). Think of it as employing a PA without the small talk or salary.
Make no mistake, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t a hundred-point reinvention from the ground up. It’s a smartphone for the creatives, the man-on-the-go, and every other punter in between who’s moved past the specs race, knows what they want, and wants it to work beautifully. Slip it into your jeans, and let yourself forget about it until you need it.
Because sometimes, that really is all you need.
