- Mercedes-AMG have unveiled the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition at the Miami Grand Prix as a direct tie-in with F1 starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.
- Strictly 52 examples will be produced, boasting a black and gold livery inspired by the fictional AXGP F1 team the Joseph Kosinski film is centred upon.
- Official pricing for the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition remains TBC, though it’ll be significantly more than the $370,400 of the regular model.
When you’re deeply involved with a $300 million Hollywood blockbuster starring Brad Pitt, helmed by the Top Gun: Maverick director, and based on the world’s most popular motorsport… billboards and plastic knick-knacks simply won’t do. You’re going to have to go big or stay the f**k home.
That’s precisely why this past weekend at the Miami Grand Prix, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition was unveiled as a stunning visual homage to Joseph Kosinski’s forthcoming F1 (but more specifically, the fictional APXGP team Pitt’s Sonny Hayes races for).

The exterior, rich in matte black with gold accents, complements a distinctive chequered flag graphic on the front fender; while additional gold accents flow seamlessly from the grille to the rear diffuser.
“F1 brilliantly intertwines the fictional APXGP team with the real-world Formula 1,” said Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach divisions.
“The thrilling storyline and realistic race footage will set moviegoers’ hearts racing. We’re excited to showcase our performance vehicles, including the dynamic AMG GT, in this high-performance setting. With the exclusive APXGP Edition, we’re creating a limited number of GTs that blend AMG’s excitement with the cinematic masterpiece F1.”

Inside, the theme continues with gold-tinged carbon fibre trim and black Nappa leather seats adorned with gilded contrast stitching. But the extraordinary level of detail doesn’t stop there: a gold-stitched AMG Performance steering wheel, gold accents on the dashboard and centre armrest, and even gold-lit AMG door sills elevate the cabin to another level of craftsmanship.
The 2026 GT63 APXGP Edition isn’t just a pretty face. Beneath the sleek exterior lies a 425kW twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 which, paired with all-wheel drive, ensures it’s a loving marriage between form and function. Adding to the track-inspired look are 21-inch AMG wheels finished in matte Race Gold and carbon-ceramic brakes; the AMG Carbon Fibre and Aerodynamics packages offering a motorsport aesthetic with a carbon-fibre front splitter, rear diffuser, and fixed rear wing.
With only 52 examples built, complete with a “Limited Edition 1 of 52” badge to remind owners how exclusive the car is, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition obviously targets the deep-pocketed car collectors. Official pricing hasn’t been confirmed, though it’s expected to be significantly more than the $370,400 of the current 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupe here in Australia.
F1 starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, on the other hand, arrives on June 26th, 2025.
