This one-of-a-kind Troopie was the same one the โCrocodile Hunterโ used to perform his duties at Australia Zoo, and acquired directly from the conservation facility by the seller circa 2013.
โIt subsequently underwent extensive mechanical refurbishment, an electrical system overhaul, and other improvements during its current 12-year ownership,โ explains the auction listing.
Under the hood, youโll find a 4.9-litre Cleveland Ford V8 engine thatโs logged 415,426 kilometres. The famous long wheelbase LandCruiser apparently features โvarious unique chassis and body details,โ including an HJ47 Troop Carrier body with evidence of ute chassis components, a rear crossmember from a ute model, as well as extra cab mount supports. The vehicleโs aluminium bull bar is also understood to date โfrom its time at Australia Zoo.โ

White paint job aside, Steve Irwinโs Troop Carrier is still adorned with green-coloured โThe Crocodile Hunterโขโ lettering along the sides and bonnet. It even comes with a history booklet and personal letter from son Robert Irwin authenticating the vehicleโs provenance.
โThis special Toyota LandCruiser represents an important piece of Australian history and culture.โ
