Bayan Fanaeyan splits his time between a menswear brand and a two-car garage that reads like a mission statement in 911s.
The founder of LÈ BAUS, the new king of the menswear block in Paddington – which also pours coffee and spins vinyl – keeps a 1992 Porsche Carrera 2 964 and a 991.2 GT3 RS side by side. The choice between them is treated as a fair and genuine daily dilemma.

The 964 is the one he actually drives, most of the time. Australian-delivered in a rare Slate Grey, fitted with an RS clutch from new, it is the car he calls the daily and the cruiser – even if the clutch makes peak-hour traffic more of a workout than most owners would choose. The interior is so clean it presents as if it’s direct from Stuttgart’s factory floor.
The GT3 RS is the newer arrival, a British Racing Green example on gold wheels with a tan interior, carbon bucket seats and a full Akrapovič exhaust and headers. Bayan traded in a 992.1 GT3 Touring to get it.
"Too much comfort in the touring," he says. "You need to change it up a little, get a little more crazy."
Ain’t that the truth. He calls the car a demon that needs wrangling, and on camera it takes some wrangling, the brake pedal alone demanding more effort than most road cars ever ask for.
Bayan's Porsche fixation goes back to two posters on the wall as a kid: a 993 Turbo and a 997 Turbo, the latter courtesy of his dad's business partner, who owned one Bayan's own father never quite got around to buying. The 964 he has now, he reckons, sits neatly between the two.
The wish list runs to a Singer, and if that doesn't happen, a Turbo S. For now, two 911s and a very patient set of neighbours will do.
