Itโs the Italians who typically dominate conversations about supercars, however, the all-electric Yangwang U9 supercar from BYD has more party tricks than youโve ever seen from a Raging Bull or Prancing Horse. Set to make its debut in China later this year, the BYD Yangwang U9 has recently showcased its remarkable chassis and suspension system that literally allows it to bunnyhop into the air and continue driving with a missing wheel.
The Shanghai motor show served as the stage for the upcoming BYD Yangwang U9, which showed off its very impressive air suspension called the DiSus System and is claimed by the brand to be the โmost advanced vehicle body control system of the industry globallyโ. While itโll be interesting to see if these claims will be verified, the video released by BYD has certainly caught the attention of many in the motoring world thanks to the lowrider-like moves of the Yangwang U9 supercar that even Snoop Dogg would be impressed by.
โThe BYD DiSus system is the first self-developed intelligent body control system launched by a Chinese automobile company, marking the breakthrough from zero to one,โ explained Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD. โThe BYD DiSus System will further secure the globally pioneering stance for BYD in the industry.โ
Powered by no less than four electric motors that combine with a heart-pumping output of 820kW/1680Nm, itโs also been claimed the Yangwang U9 can hit 100km/h in less than two seconds. Itโs also been stated the supercarโs battery will be efficient enough to deliver up to 700kms of range per charge. Extremely impressive, if true.
While itโs yet to be revealed if the BYD Yangwang U9 supercar will be available outside of China, the claimed quality of its suspension, stability, speed and range are sure to make it an extremely popular choice for those in the market. Priced at around the approachable ยฅ1 million ($AU218,000) mark, we hope these make it Down Under.
