Weโre a little late to the party with this article, but we donโt think youโll mind given the fact that actor Michael Fassbender is training with Porsche to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The mission, which has been documented for a weekly YouTube series, began airing on Porscheโs channel on October 11th, 2019.
Dubbed โRoad to Le Mansโ, the multi-part series follows the German-Irish actor as he goes through the turbulent process of training for one of the worldโs most coveted motorsport races in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The factory-built, customer-ready racking package is powered by a 4.0-litre flat-six.
While relatively new to motorsport, Fassbender isnโt a complete racing novice. The man has driven at the Porsche Super Sports Cup in Germany, behind the wheel of the #93 911 GT3 Cup car for the Manthey Racing Team. Fassbender showed some serious natural debut talent obtaining 5 podiums and 1 win in just 11 races with the Ferrari Challenge series.
โIโve just always felt drawn to going fast into a cornerโand fast outโand just naturally felt connected to it, and now I want to go to the ultimate place,โ Fassbender says in the trailer.
โI think itโs the history of the place. I think itโs the drivers that crashed there, or competed there, or won there. To be a part of that would be, you know, unbelievable.โ
This is the first season of Fassbenderโs goal to reach Le Mans โ as explained in the trailer โ implying that more could be in the pipeline.
