RIMOWA's Never Still Updates Make A Compelling Case For Wheelless Travel

The German mobility label expands its leather range with a new Duffle and more colours for its signature Flap Backpack – each built for the man who's always on the move.

The hard suitcase makes a compelling case when you're rolling through an airport, built to take a beating and take the weight off your shoulders on the long haul.

But the duffle might be the more considered option for the trips in between, moving the essentials somewhere a hard case was never built for. The frunk of a 911. The pristine cabin of a day boat. A locker at the gym or a bench courtside for Wednesday night doubles.

For that kind of travel, RIMOWA has built something different. And now, it's in leather – and better for it.

The brand's Never Still collection – the range that first turned RIMOWA from an aviation-grade suitcase maker into a genuine mobility label – has just been expanded with new leather silhouettes designed for exactly this kind of everyday, purposeful travel.

The headline addition is the Never Still Leather Duffle, now available in Medium and Large, crafted from full-grain leather rather than the nylon of its predecessor. It's the same bag built for the frunk, the gym locker, the boat deck – just upgraded in material and built for longevity rather than avoiding wear altogether.

Two new hues anchor the expansion. Anthracite, a deep smoky grey, and Mocha, a muted brown with an effortless kind of charm; both echo RIMOWA's signature grooved design codes while giving the collection a warmer, more grown-up palette than the brand's usual black and silver.

The Never Still Leather Flap Backpack now comes in a smaller size for the first time, debuting in Mocha, complete with a padded back and a suitcase attachment sleeve for anyone still travelling wheel-first some of the time.

The Large Flap Backpack joins the permanent range in Anthracite (pictured), sitting alongside the existing Black.

Another highlight of the collection is the Leather Zipped Tote in Black and a small Cross-Body bag in Mocha and Anthracite, to properly round out the carry-only setup. The former is roomy enough for a 13-inch laptop and the perfect upgrade to any midweek trip into the office.

And it’s fair to say that’s true across the entire collection, one built for a man who doesn't need a reason to travel light, but needs style and substance in equal measure. He might be flying out for one dinner and back before the weekend, or driving three hours to a coast he's visited a dozen times before. Either way, the RIMOWA Never Still leather range is designed to move with him rather than just trailing behind: robust at its core, flexible in the awkward spaces a hard case can't reach.

Pricing starts at $2,515 for the Cross-Body Bag Small, rising to $2,835 for the Flap Backpack Small in Mocha, $3,100 for the Duffle Medium, and $3,500 for the Duffle Large in Anthracite or Black. The Flap Backpack Large in Anthracite lands at $3,400, and the Leather Zipped Tote at $2,900.

The full Never Still leather collection is available now at RIMOWA stores worldwide and online.
