Rodd & Gunn turned a Melbourne basement into the most fashionable footy ground in the country.

The venue was The Cellar, tucked beneath Rodd & Gunn's The Lodge on Little Collins Street, where 150 of Melbourne’s finest filed in to find something you don't typically encounter at a fashion launch – MCG turf on the runway. A full runway strip of it, green and immaculate, running the length of the room.
Laurent Perrier was flowing freely, there was a caviar station doing serious numbers, and the canapés were the kind you silently resent because you want four more but the tray has already moved on. The setting was not your typical product launch and more "private members' club throws a grand final eve party for people who have never once got their R.M Williams dirty.”
Then came the runway. Eighteen models, led by Montana Cox, walked the turf in Rodd & Gunn's new AFL capsule collection, one for each club, split evenly between men and women. Every walk drew a reaction from someone in the room who spotted their club colours. You could hear it ripple through the crowd: a low murmur when Geelong appeared, a cheer for Collingwood, a few phones lifting in unison for the Tigers.
Here's the thing nobody in the room expected: the women stole the show. Oversized, collar popped, styled loose over denim, the Foresters Peak quarter-zip looked better on the women than the men. If Rodd & Gunn is smart (and they clearly are), they'll lean into this hard. These jumpers are going to be everywhere in the stands come finals, and not just on the boys.
