This year’s Australian Open has been an absolute cracker so far. It’s broken attendance records, showcased some unbelievable tennis, and for the horological enthusiasts out there, the 2026 Australian Open has also been a stellar year for watch spotting.
From the rarely spotted independent watchmakers like Gerald Charles to an unbelievably desirable ceramic Audemars Piguet, it’s been an interesting line-up of watches worn by players compared to previous years.
On top of that, even though we’re used to seeing Rolex everywhere โ from testimonee wrists to courtside clocks โ the one and only Roger Federer made sure he brought some heat with him from Switzerland. Let’s get into the best of the best.
Roger Federer โ Rolex Land Dweller 40 Ref. 127334

Everyone’s favourite Swiss tennis star might have only been at the Australian Open for an exhibition match, but the casual nature of his appearance meant we got a rare sight of him wearing a watch, racquet in hand. Specifically, what looks to be the same Rolex Land Dweller 40 Ref. 127334 he was wearing during an interview at Wimbledon last year.
Aryna Sabalenka โ Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked Blue Ceramic

In what was one of the more amusing post-match interview moments of this AO, Jelena Dokic offered to borrow Aryna Sabalenka’s Audemars Piguet to help her recover in the summer heat. Generously, she took it off and placed it around Dokic’s wrist, with Dokic asking, “Do I want to know how much this costs?”
Sabalenka replied, laughing, “a lot,” and with an RRP of around $168,000, it’s one of Audemars Piguet’s pricier Royal Oaks. However, considering there’s a pre-owned example on Chrono24 right now with an ask of $514,995, it’s little wonder Dokic then asked if she had insurance, before swiftly handing it back to her.
Alex de Minaur โ Gerald Charles Maestro GC Sport Tennis

Australia’s number one singles player in the gents division, Alex de Minaur, had a solid AO this year, making it to the quarter finals before his tournament came to an end in straight sets at the hands of a storming Carlos Alcaraz. On his wrist was the eye-catching tennis ball green of a Maestro GC Sport Tennis, manufactured by the growing independent watchmaker Gerald Charles.
Carlos Alcaraz โ Rolex Daytona Ref. 126518LN

The man who sent de Minaur packing, Carlos Alcaraz, was wearing the same Rolex Daytona Ref. 126518LN, which we spotted him wearing at Wimbledon in 2025, featuring a spectacular turquoise blue dial that contrasts perfectly against the yellow gold case.
Novak Djokovic โ Hublot Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic

Despite recently releasing an all-new collaborative collection in the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Novak Djokovic โGOAT Editionsโ, Djokovic was still wearing his previous collaboration with the brand โ the Hublot Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic. With a case made from an epoxy resin and quartz powder composite that includes fragments of Djokovicโs racquets and polos, it’s one of the more unique collaborations we’ve ever seen from Hublot.
Jannik Sinner โ Rolex Daytona Ref. 126515LN

Another Rolex testimonee, Italian Jannik Sinner, was also spotted wearing a solid gold Daytona, but instead of the bright colours of Alcaraz’s pick, Sinner opted for the reference in rose gold with a subtle silver dial.
Alexander Zverev โ Jacob & Co. Epic X Skeleton

One of the few stars at the Australian Open this year to actually wear a watch during his matches, Zverev was spotted with a fully blacked-out Jacob & Co. Epic X Skeleton on his wrist. Specifically, it appears to be a custom-made piece featuring a blue crown, which doesn’t appear on the brand’s website.
