CASIO Vintage Premium Launches With Monochromatic Rag & Bone Collab

Vintage re-issues have dominated watch headlines in recent years, and for good reason – they give new life to storied designs while boasting modern materials and movements (with a warranty to boot!). CASIO has doubled down on demand for iconic releases like the F-91W and A164W by launching CASIO Vintage Premium – a collection of early digital era watches we know and love, made from top-quality materials.

Launching the CASIO Vintage Premium range is a two-watch limited edition collaboration with New York brand rag & bone that pairs the brand’s artisanal ethos and uncompromising ideals of authenticity, individuality, and durability with CASIO’s timelessness. The collaboration debuts a modern aesthetic for one of CASIO’s earliest digital watches – the A1000 – by showcasing (typical) understated rag & bone style through the use of coloured steel and brushed finishing.

With a thin profile and clear LCD screen at the face’s centre, the A1000RCB-1B and A1000RCG-8 introduce military accents and a monochromatic stainless steel case with a matching solid steel bracelet in a matted finish, that provides both comfort, and a distinct sense of quality on the wrist.

While the functionality of the CASIO Vintage Premium pieces doesn’t differ much, the build quality – something rag & bone is synonymous with – certainly does. Alongside durable stainless steel ‘ion plated’ construction, the pieces feature scratch-resistant mineral glass and a clearer Illuminator display. Nods to rag & bone – who celebrate their 20th anniversary with the collab – include logos on the face and bracelet clasp.

Set to release in October 2022, the limited edition A1000RCB-1B and A1000RCG-8 will retail for $399AUD and be available for purchase through Casio Watches, as well as select Australian retailers.
