When it comes to racing chronographs, few are more celebrated than the legendary TAG Heuer Monaco. Most famously worn on the wrist of Steve McQueen during the filming of Le Mans, TAG Heuer has unveiled an all-new limited edition Monaco Chronograph ahead of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend, executed in a colourway that draws inspiration from the fluorescent hue that accents the the late-night race.
Itโs fair to say that over the last half-decade or so, TAG Heuer hasnโt been shy in releasing more than a handful of special and limited edition versions of the Monaco Chronograph, but almost none of them are as vibrant and vivid as this. Featuring a classic 39mm grade 2 titanium square case thatโs been sandblasted and black DLC-coated (offering 100m of water resistance), the skeletonised dial is where the magic takes place.

Skeletonised to reveal the movement beneath, the dial has been colour-treated with a gradient of colours that shift from deep blue to a lively shade of bright purple, echoing the shifting colours that take place on track as the sun goes down. The three chronograph hands are executed in an eye-catching turquoise hue, while the hour and minute hands are filled with blue Super-LumiNova as a further nod to the street circuit.

The bespoke details donโt stop there โ the sapphire crystal caseback also gets treated with a similarly ranging spectrum of colours that range from turquoise to dark pink. Visible through this caseback is the calibre TH20-00 that TAG Heuer has used in more than a dozen different references over the years, equipped with a column wheel and offering an impressive 80 hours of power reserve.

Paired with a black rubber strap with purple contrast stitching, the strapโs closure is secured with a black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium folding clasp. This latest TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph for the Las Vegas GP will be a limited edition of just 600 pieces and arrives with an Australian RRP of $17,100.
