For most Aussies, a layover in the Middle East is a necessary pit-stop on the way to any European sojourn, and for those who enjoy lifeโs finer things, Doha Airport has just gotten a little bit better thanks to the new Qatar Airways x Louis Vuitton lounge.
Even before this luxurious new space to unwind between long-haul flights opened its doors, Doha Airport was named the โbest airport in the worldโ by Skytrax back in 2021. This latest lounge for first and business-class passengers will go a long way in winning that award back in 2023, boasting a restaurant led by three Michelin star chef, Yannick Alleno, with a menu bursting with locally sourced ingredients.
Speaking with Luxury Launches, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, explained: โI donโt think any airport in the world will ever be able to match what we have done here.

โBrands want to be in the best facility in the world, and where can it be better than Hamad International?โ he went on.
โShow me one airport that has this quality and this standard anywhere in the world. People can spend a lot of money building mega airports. But there is no airport that has been designed and delivered by an airline; we know what passengers want. An architect cannot build an airport. It is an airline that can build an airport.โ
Even if you arenโt eating, the Costela armchairs by Martin Eisler and India Mahdavi low tables serve as the ideal spot to kill an hour or two with a good book and a cup of coffee, while thereโs also shopping to be done if youโre in the mood. The lounge is currently open and well worth a visit if youโre making a stop in Doha anytime soon.
