Oxbow Adventures opened its doors in early 2020 in the Gibston Valley โ half an hourโs drive outside of Queenstown. Naturally, the pandemic derailed the teamโs initial opening plans, but Oxbow is now full speed ahead, and soon, bound to become a Queenstown bucket list non-negotiable.
While on the South Island pulling off Uberโs wild 10th anniversary celebrations at Soho Basin, the Boss Hunting team dropped by to affirm Oxbowโs adrenaline-pumping credentials. The verdict? We were seriously surprised and delighted.
Weโd recommend kicking off the day with clay shooting to get the blood pumping, and then back it up with either off-roading or jet boating. Or, if youโre really hungry for an adrenaline rush, why not both?
Jet boating, for one, is a quintessential Queenstown experience โ but at Oxbow, they lean on custom-built craft to add a new layer of speed and gut-wrenching turns to your time out on the water. Oxbowโs pair of four-seater jet boats are the first of their kind: designed in partnership with world champions of the sport.
The off-roading isnโt too dissimilar, with all-terrain vehicles capable of smashing and bashing all kinds of wild terrain. Also custom-built for Oxbow, these $150,000 weapons sport V8 Lexus engines, custom suspension, and front and rear axles that operate independently of one another.
