The year 2014 saw the genesis of the Kingsman franchise with our favourite secret service duo Harry Hart (Colin Firth) and Eggsy Unwin (Taron Egerton) donning some seriously fire threads and kicking Samuel L. Jacksonโs ass. Since then, the filmโs director Matthew Vaughn followed it up with a sequel in 2017, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and has now expanded its universe with the highly-anticipated prequel The Kingโs Man thatโs set to drop in 2020.
While Ralph Fiennesโ turn-of-the-century outing looks awesome, our attention has been snared this morning by the reports of an epic finale to the original duo of films.
During an appearance at this weekโs ACE Comic-Con Midwest, Egerton teased fans with few details about the third Kingsman instalment, but he did blithely confirm that the script has been written and complete. When asked about the filmโs plot, Egerton didnโt say, simply stating that it is a really great idea that will blow minds.
Egerton expressed that heโs keen to shoot this third film as he wants to give Eggsy the greatest goodbye he can, a nod to the character that kicked off his career. His statements regarding Kingsman 3 mimic Vaughnโs, who has previously confirmed that the third film will be the last, wrapping up Harry and Eggsyโs alliance, with fans seeing them venture out into territories theyโve never dealt with before.
Sounds like exciting stuff! And with the script written, this can only mean that production on Kingsman 3 will likely begin very soon.
Until then, fans can catch the trailer for The Kings Man.
