- The full list of Oscar nominations for 2026 has been revealed, with Sinners becoming the first film in history to earn 16 nominations.
- The other most nominated films were One Battle After Another (13 nominations), Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value (9 nominations), and Hamnet (8 nominations).
- The 2026 Oscars awards night will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre, with US comedian Conan O’Brien locked in as host.
Hollywood’s night of nights has a new juggernaut in 2026, with Sinners storming the Oscars nominations with a record-smashing 16 nods, including Best Picture, Director, and Original Screenplay. Sinners overtakes the previous record holders for most ever Oscar nominations, which were All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997) and La La Land (2016).
Breathing down Sinners‘ neck is One Battle After Another on 13, while Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value land nine apiece in a stacked field. The Best Picture line-up includes Sinners, One Battle After Another, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, Bugonia, F1 (whose director we interviewed), Hamnet, The Secret Agent, and Train Dreams.
As far as the studio scoreboard, Warner Bros. leads with 30 nominations (mostly thanks to Sinners and One Battle After Another), Neon clocks 18 (The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value), and Netflix has locked in 16 (Frankenstein, Train Dreams). On the shock front, Wicked: For Good was iced out entirely, while Delroy Lindo and Kate Hudson swooped in with surprise nods.
Announced live by Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre, this year’s slate spans 24 categories and debuts a fresh award in Best Casting – the first new Oscar that’s been added to the awards night since Animated Feature in 2002. The nominees for the new award are Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, and Sinners.
The 2026 Oscars also arrive with some tougher new viewing rules, with members now having to actually prove they watched the films they’re voting on. This is set to be tracked via the Academy Screening Room app or logged screenings.
Awards will be handed out on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre, with this year’s host confirmed as returning Conan O’Brien.
