The madness continues at SIHH 2019 with IWC Schaffhausen delivering some sharp new aeronautical timepieces, a few of which have never been done before.

The iconic instrument design of IWC’s Pilot’s watches was once the result of engineering to the specific requirements of military aviation. Today, we see a first-ever jet black TOP GUN piece in the brand’s new Ceratanium material, in addition to a special “Silver Spitfire” edition launched to coincide with the world’s first round-the-world flight of a Spitfire being undertaken later this year.

While we were particularly impressed with the general refinement, as well as new in house calibres across the board, the pick of the presentation was the IWC TOP GUN ‘Mojave Desert’ in sand coloured ceramic. Limited to 1000 pieces worldwide the watch is rare in number and unique in appearance, finished in an appealing desert colourway.

We’ll continue to bring you the highlights of SIHH as they come in from our man on the ground in Geneva, in the meantime, check out the new IWC offerings below.
