Patrón El Cielo Takes Flight With A Sky-High Australian Launch

The highest open-air rooftop bar in Sydney, Crown’s CIRQ, greeted guests as they stepped out of the elevators with a signature serving of Patrón El Cielo on ice with nothing but a humble slice of orange. Bold move, and a tasty one at that.

The latest hero in the Mexican powerhouse’s famed lineup of additive-free tequilas literally translates in English to “the sky.” The more ethereal interpretation of the phrase – woven together with a bit of Mayan folklore and religious legend – lands on “the heavens.” Perhaps a nod to Patrón El Cielo’s perceived weightlessness when sipped and smooth finish on the palate when drunk with appreciation.

But despite its celestial namesake and premium price point, it’s still very much the classically down-to-earth Patrón tequila we’ve come to know and love, crafted entirely by hand.

Patrón El Cielo’s Australian launch was kicked off by local duo Flight Facilities, who delivered the grooves until late, with the likes of Gavin Rubinstein, Peter Bol, and Natalie Roser toasting to the launch of Patrón El Cielo alongside 200 guests.

Made from the finest Blue Weber agave grown in some of the highest plantations throughout Jalisco, this tequila goes through a four-time distillation process that unlocks a natural sweetness never before tasted in a silver tequila.
