The roaring โ20s are returning to Sydney this November in the form of underground prohibition parties thanks to the crew at Beyond Cinema. Having organised a number of exclusive events over the past few years, including a Great Gatsby celebration at a north Sydney mansion and a Mad Hatterโs tea party in the Botanic Gardens, their latest idea goes by the name โThe Blind Barberโ, a speakeasy-style pop-up bar set to open once a week throughout November.
Inspired by the prohibition era, The Blind Barber will feature casino tables to gamble at, a fully stocked bar serving tasty cocktails and live jazz bands playing hits from the period. The interactive experience will also include actors playing some of the most notorious characters from the 20โs, so donโt be surprised if you see Al Capone chomping on a cigar at a table with nefarious looking types.

This is Beyond Cinemaโs first non-film project, but like their other outstanding events, ticket holders are expected to dress-up, so make sure youโve got your finest pinstripe suit, waistcoat and trilby hat ready for the first party on November 2.
While the location is being kept a secret, itโs believed to be held somewhere in North Sydney, 15 minutes from the CBD, in an underground setting. There are three types of tickets on offer; with your standard entry ticket $30, a canapรฉs and cocktails package for $65, and an ultimate VIP dining experience, featuring a three-course meal in an underground chamber for $90.
