Sydney-based grocery delivery app Milkrun has been making some major moves since launching just over a year ago. Over the past few months, the app has increased its delivery range, made the very logical leap to alcohol, and emerged from a swift cull that saw competitors Voly and Send run out of funds. Now the start-up seems ready to dip further into its locally-minded schtick, launching an expansion called Milkrun Market with a growing range of goods from local businesses.
So far, the Milkrun Market has only launched in Sydney but has already got heavy hitters like Manettas Seafood and Vicโs Premium Quality Meat on board. Anyone who hops on the app from today can find these suppliers offering their goods via the app, so you can grab goods like fresh seafood from Sydney Fish Markets or something like Vicโs wagyu beef lasagna on a whim.
That โwhimโ isnโt quite as last-minute as most of Milkrunโs groceries though. Anything ordered via the Milkrun Market will be delivered the following day. Youโd just need to place your order before 10 PM the previous night and select from numerous two-hour delivery windows for free next-day delivery.
While a bit of pre-planning is needed, youโve got access to a nice amount of Sydneyโs best local barkeries, butchers, fishmongers, organic farms and cheesemongers now. This includes Infinity Bakery, Morco Fresh Produce, Ocello Cheese, Skittle Lane Coffee, and a few others.
A press release announcing the expansion also indicates that Milkrun Market will be adding over five new suppliers every week.
To access the Milkrun Market, which has over 10,000 new products from local Sydney businesses, just go to the appโs homepage and youโll see two buttons. One says โNow, in minutesโ which will bring up all the regular Milkrun options that are available for delivery right now. The other one says โNext-Day.โ Press the latter to access the Milkrun Market options. Although youโll need to make sure your Milkrun app is updated.
