Although it was originally scheduled for a February 2023 opening date, Merivaleโs highly-anticipated Victorian debut is now only a few days away. With doors to Tottiโs Lorne opening on March 11 in The Lorne Hotel, the Sydney-based hospitality juggernaut officially makes its move down the coast, reshaping its signature casual Italian concept to fit its Great Ocean Road locale.
Merivale boss Justin Hemmes purchased The Lorne Hotel for $38 million in May 2021 and it has since been one of the groupโs most ambitious projects to date. Tottiโs will be a central feature of the multifaceted venue, marking the fifth overall outpost for Mike Eggertโs hugely successful concept.
Surf Coast local Matt Germanchis is serving as Executive Chef, spearheading a menu that leans heavily towards local seafood like King George Whiting and Apollo Bay octopus. Itโs very much Tottiโs rewritten with Melbourneโs delectable bounty, fitting local produce into a frame that includes Tottiโs signature antipasti and wood-fired bread and handmade pasta.
