Double Bay’s Margaret has been crowned Australia’s best steak restaurant by the folks at World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants (check out the 2025 list here), ahead of the global 2026 list dropping. If you're yet to visit the newly crowned establishment, Neil Perry’s Margaret is the polished, confident kind of “fine diner” that makes you more than happy to add another 10% to the bill when it arrives.
While we've still got a couple of months to wait before the full list is announced, the crew behind the ranking has teased their Australia list on socials, and Sydney totally dominated, claiming 16 places on the top 30 list.
As far as how the rest of the list reads, Margaret takes the gold, Firedoor lands at number two, and Aalia hits third – a timely reminder that great steak isn’t always white tablecloths and béarnaise.
